Often but a whisker away from a nasty end - whirring in the washing machine, incarcerated under the floorboards, dangling by one delicate claw from precipitous ledges - she comes through it all with amour propre intact. Along the way she meets a host of fascinating friends, feline and human: Fatima the Witch Cat, Titus the horticultural cat, the 'Bear' who moves in with her mistress, and many others.
